When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, we suddenly found ourselves unable to gather for rehearsals, writing sessions, shows, etc. We decided that instead of just pressing pause completely, we would try and self-record some cover tunes to stay busy. This turned into a three-installment video series we called Quarantunes.

Matthew would record live vocal/guitar/bass takes and then email them to Mark, who added all the wonderful bleeps and bloops and beats that he is so good at. It was a chance for us to experiment with some home recording techniques and new sounds, and also pay tribute to a few of our favorite artists: Gillian Welch, Wilco, and Yo La Tengo. These songs all hit home for us during what was an especially trying year.

We revisited the original mixes and then had them mastered by Joey Lemon, and are now releasing them as a free EP. We hope that the songs are each a balm to you as they are to us.
